Safety recalls can appear long after a vehicle is sold. Here’s a simple plan to stay on top of them.
How Often to Check
- At purchase time (new or used)
- Every 3–6 months as part of your routine maintenance
- Before long trips
- After major news about your make/model
If Your Vehicle Has an Open Recall
- Call your franchised dealer with your VIN to confirm parts availability.
- Schedule the repair—recall remedies are typically free.
- Keep documentation for your records (especially helpful if you sell the vehicle).
What If No Recalls Show?
That’s good news—but check again in a few months. New campaigns may be added over time.
Need the Original Window Sticker?
